Do homoeopathic doctors have a proper medical training background? Can they understand and diagnose complains correctly, just as a general physician would?

Yes, a professional homoeopath in India has to undergo the same rigorous four and a half years of studying and training as any other allopathic (MBBS) doctor, including a one-year internship in hospitals and clinics. A Homoeopath has to learn subjects that are taught in Allopathic institutions (like Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Surgery and Medicine) along with the subjects of Homoeopathy to get graduated as a Homoeopath. And to obtain the post graduation degree of Doctor of Medicine in Homoeopathy [ MD.Hom], one must study for an additional three years.
In addition, homoeopathic practice is never limited to a particular type of disease or segment. In allopathy, for example, a dermatologist treats only skin diseases, and a gastroenterologist treats only patients with digestive system problems. A homoeopath, however, is trained to treat a wide range of conditions, from common problems like sinusitis and allergic cough to more serious conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and even diseases like cancer. In the truest sense of the word, a homoeopath is a multi-specialist.
